Fedex/Kinkos Expands into Spa Services

Not a company to rest on its laurels, Fedex has expanded its model to include spa services by purchasing the Aveda stores.

“It’s a natural for us,” says John B., regional manager.  “After decimating the Kinko’s brand, we were looking for our next victim.  Aveda was right next door, so that was an easy choice. We walked in the door and said, ‘Speedy Delivery,’ and they caved pretty much immediately.”

Customers can choose from a complete menu of services while waiting for on-demand print and copy jobs.  Options range from full body shrink-wrap massage to facial lamination.  And while in line for Fedex delivery, some can take advantage of massage-on-queue, a complimentary neck and shoulder massage for Fedex’s best customers. Please note the latter is available only with Priority Overnight service.

Fedex/Kinkos/Aveda customers are the real winners here,” said John.

Frequent print center customer Arna M. was among the first to take advantage of the new arrangement.  “I thought I’d start small, so I tried out the skin collation. There was a discount if they were collating a copy job for you at the same time.  I liked the results so much, I’ve since had inkjet dermabrasion and deep tissue stapling.”

The company is in the process of choosing a new combination name that will accurately reflect its range of services.  Fedex would not share the names under consideration, except to say that Kinkex Massage Center and Fedex/daKink Copy Spa were among the options they’ve rejected.
