Shopper Makes Actual Purchase in Le Creuset Shop
At 10:33 this morning, a shopper made an actual purchase at the Bethesda Lane Le Creuset store. When the call came to the Sit-Room of the Bethesda Chamber of Secrets, there was celebration. Jim K. popped the cork on a champagne bottle, and his associate, Susan G., sobbed at her desk.
“Tears of joy,” she said. “We knew this day would come, we always had faith in that store’s viability, but it’s so validating when it finally happens.”
Meanwhile, in the store itself, the clerk exclaimed: “It wasn’t even a bridal registry item! And it was much more substantial than the onion soup crock we embarrassed someone into buying last month!”
The purchase was a 5 ½-qt oval roaster in brick red, the perfect size for a capon or a roast. Le Creuset pots are valued for their durability—families hand them down over generations–as well as their reputation for holding moisture in a slow-cooked dish.
The shopper who made the historic purchase turned down BWN’s request for an interview. She would only say she was going home to find a special place to display her new treasure.
“What will you cook in it first?” BWN asked.
“Cook?” she exclaimed, caressing the lid. “Doesn’t it look perfect with my manicure?”
